This lovely agriturismo in Tuscany consists of a single estate nestled within the very heart of the valley, surrounded by smooth hills of terraced olive groves, vineyards, Mediterranean shrubs and woods. Surrounded by five hectares of land used for organic farming, the farm is not only renowned for its vegetables but also for the production of extra-virgin olive oil and red wine labeled as "D.O.C. Val di Chio".
Facilities
The main country house is spread over two floors: on the first floor, which can be accessed through a traditional stone staircase, there is a roofed loggia f where one can enjoy the view of a beautiful Tuscan landscape with the town of Castiglion Fiorentino. From the loggia one can have access to two apartments: Melo in Fiore and Glicine Giallo (each one sleeping 3-5 people) measuring 65 sq. m.; both these apartments have a kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom with shower and are furnished with period pieces of furniture.
Apartment Iris (sleeping 3 people) measuring 35 sq. m. is on the ground floor to be easily accessible to disabled people; like the other apartments, it has nice period pieces of furniture and consists of a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom with shower. All the apartments are equipped with fridge, safe, TV, bed linen, towels, and kitchen linen. Those wishing to cook in their apartments are allowed to pick our organic produce in the vegetable garden.
A line of cypress trees divides the main house from an independent outdoor building made of wood, which has been completely treated with natural products: this facility has a big panoramic terrace, three comfortable rooms with en-suite bathroom and a small fully equipped outdoor kitchen, complete with table and chairs. The farmhouse has some shady outdoor areas that are equipped with garden tables, as well as a large free car park that is easily accessible to disabled people, and the swimming pool. A low mesh divides this area from the swimming pool with sunbathing area equipped with sun beds, parasols and solar-powered pool-side shower.
The owners are environmentally friendly, so along with organic farming they have decided to install a PV system to supply electrical power and a solar system to supply hot water.
